Carpets and felts
Carpets and felts are textile floor coverings that
are created from thick woven fabric. Carpets are
used in a number of different places, such as
residential dwellings in living rooms and
bedrooms, office buildings, schools, libraries et.
Although there is nothing stopping the use of
carpets in a building, they can often be quite
expensive to install and are difficult to clean if
they become dirty so are typically not found in
buildings or rooms of frequent use and
uncleanliness, such as industrial units or kitchens. Carpets can be utilised
for a number of different reasons, such as contributing to the comfort of a
room, reducing sound from walking, and also to add decoration.
