Any other file type (e.g., .pdf, .txt, .xls, .xlsx, .pptx, .ppt etc.) will be discarded without grading.Op-ed write-ups may be submitted ahead of the deadline; however, these will be held for review and will be scored following the associated deadline. You cannot replace a graded op-ed with a later submission. See the “MIS500 Op-Ed Write-up Guidelines” document in the Course Information module of the Canvas course website for complete instructions before beginning to write your first op-ed for the course. Group Project(375 points)group work with individual componentsThe readings and discussions in this course will introduce you many innovative ways that IS can be used to improve organizational performance and some ways that IS can be a detriment. While understanding basic concepts and possibilities is important, applying IS in organizations is often much messier. General recommendations like “don’t over-invest in infrastructure” and “create usable web sites to enhance customers’ perceptions of your firm” can have very different implications in different settings. The group project provides you with an opportunity to consider the challenges associated with applying IS effectively. In completing the project your group will analyze an organizational process, identify ways that IS can be used to improve performance of the process, and develop the business case for one of the improvement opportunities you identified. Expanded guidelines will be posted in the Group Project module of the Canvas course website. AoL Survey Assignment(50 points)individual workAs a part of our master’s program objectives, we collect “Assurance of Learning” (AoL) survey from those who take this course. There are three questions under our learning goal in the program that you should answer toward the end of the semester. The survey will be conducted through Qualtrics (a link to the survey will be announced during the semester) and no more than an hour is expected for students to spend completing the survey. By completing all the questions with comprehensive response in sincere manner, including complete answers to each question, students will get full credit for this assignment.
