In the U.S, healthcare tends to be extremely expensive with cost close to $7,500 per person in healthcare spending per year. The high cost of healthcare spending cause a lot of financial burden and some people chose to not get health insurance resulting in the increased number of uninsured in the U.S which was rated at 27.3 million in 2016 (Health Care in the U.S. (n.d.)). Most uninsured in the U.S. rely on emergency medical services as their primary care sites, and those contribute to a lot of loss for the government. Most people are insured through employment in the U.S. and sometimes have to wait 30 to 60 days after starting employment to be able to use their health insurance, which will impact their health and their finances as well. Insurance companies in the U.S. do not have set fees for service, therefore each insurance company has a choice on how much they are willing to cove. Populations are therefore facing financial burden because healthcare costs keep rising in the profit of companies. We are continuing to see more and medical bankruptcy cases and those impact healthcare facilities and the government a lot. 6
