Linguistic DifferencesDealing with linguistic diversity in the classroom can be a bit challenging for teachers, who only know how to speak one language fluently. But this can also be a challenge for student’swho enter a classroom, where their native language isn’t spoken. This can affect the student as well, due to the underlying issues and questions that may result from being a linguistic speaker. Student’s who faces linguistic differences often struggle with acceptance. Some students often feel that the language in which their family speaks, isn’t valued and sometimes get looked over. As educators, some of us don’t have any knowledge or experience as of how to speak another language, and this can affect our student’s success. Having the ability to only speak English, can be a disadvantage to student’s who are monolingual. Trying to teach a class with student’s of lin-guistic diversity can become very time-consuming and stressful, but we must incorporate strate-gies and practices that will accommodate these students needs. From my perspective, I truly be-lieve that teachers should receive training for language varieties. Also, schools should make it their responsibility to adopt a computer software that assist with linguistic speakers. This soft-ware would provide translations, for both students and teachers to understand. In order to addressthese issues or decrease bias, to not take away from our student’s native background, its impera-tive that schools create a similar plan like mentioned for these students so that they are able to reach their full potential in the classrooms.Christian ValuesAs christian believers, we must have a respect for others, regardless of how differently God created us. As educators, we have a duty to fulfill, which consist of teaching and guiding children.
