Analysis of Data Interpretation
Formative and summative assessments provide the students and teachers with
information on what the student understands, have mastered, and areas the student need

improvement (Davis 2018). With the use of data, teachers can use the information collected
from the test data to make educational decisions to improve instructional methods to meet the
needs of the students.
Mean, Median and Mode
With the data form assessment test results, I was able to determine the mean, median, and
mode. The mean, median, and mode are as followed:

Educational Assessment
While examining the data form the students assessment results, the grade or average form
the data shows that the students made a letter grade of a “C” or better. After looking at the bar
graph, it will gibe the teacher a better understand on what areas needs improvement and the
teacher can modify the method of instruction accordingly. By observing the bar graph, it shows
that questions “2” and “7” are the areas that needs improvement, and the teacher needs to go
back and reteach the content to help the students comprehend the information that was presented
in that subject area.
Applying the Data
Teachers scan apply data for assessments in many ways. According to Dyer (2016),
teaches can apply data by differentiated instruction for student readiness and setting academic
goals for the students. When assessment data is given to the teacher, it lets the teacher know
exactly where the students are compared to their peers. Applying the data will allow the teacher
to make decisions on method of instruction and grouping on the needs of the students. When

applying the data, the teacher can also set academic goas and lesson plans so the students can
achieve academic success.
Interpreting the Mean, Median and Mode
The mean, median, and mode are measures of central tendency to help find the average of
a data set. The mean is the sum of all values divided by the total number of values, the
median is the middle number in an ordered number set, and the mode is the most frequent value.
The average and the most frequent score in the data presented are close and is the 75% which
tells me that the class usually maintains a letter grade of “C” or better. The way I would reteach
the lesson is to follow strategies with the use of differentiated instruction that way I can meet the
needs of my students. The way I will share the information to the students and parents are
through monthly progress reports or report cards to show the students and their parents where the
students stand in the class and provide ways to help the student to achieve academic goals and
master needed skills for the class.
