S-20 Final Project You are required to submit at the end of the semester, a paper that is a response to one of the scenarios listed below. You may choose which scenario you wish to address. As part of Written Assignment 5 in Week 5 you will inform your mentor which of the two scenarios you want to work on in your paper. You must also submit as part of this assignment a preliminary list of sources that you intend to use. As part of Written Assignment 7 in Week 8 you are required to submit a brief outline of how you intend to structure your Final Project paper, and an updated list of sources. Your paper should be a minimum of eight to ten (8 10) pages in length and should be supported by reputable sources. There is no specific referencing style that you must use, but whichever one you choose it should be an accepted style (i.e. MLE, Turabian, AP), and you should be consistent in using it. Check with your mentor. 1. There have been several attempts over the years to regulate tobacco use. Some of these attempts have included, but are not limited to, finding a safer cigarette, replacing cigarettes with smokeless tobacco, and smoking cessation programs. Discuss the success rate of these and additional attempts and programs. After clearly showing the success rate, formulate a program to help decrease smoking in America. Explain why you think your program will be more successful than other ones. Be creative and incorporate ideas from different sources. Your program needs to be supported by facts found in these various sources. (Examples: FDA regulations, nicotine and the brain, dependence potential, etc.).

S-21 2. Heroin, Marijuana, and MDMA (Ecstasy) are all Schedule I drugs. Compare and contrast these drugs. After detailing the similarities and differences of these three drugs, choose one and argue why this drug should be changed to a Schedule II drug.
