Sulfonamides (Epocrates, 2019). Erysipelas Group A Streptococcus, S. aureus Dicloxacillin 500mg orally every 6 hours Penicillin (Micromedex, 2019). Amoxicillin Sodium/Clavul anate Potassium 875/125 mg orally twice daily OR 500/125 mg orally three times daily Penicillin (Micromedex, 2019). Azithromycin 500 mg orally for initial dose and then 250 mg orally daily for 4 days OR 500 mg orally daily for three days Macrolide (Micromedex, 2019). Impetigo Group A Streptococcus, impetigo For uncomplicated Tx: mupirocin topical 2% apply to affected skin and nares three times daily. Carboxylic acid For more complicated Tx: dicloxacillin: children 25-50 mg/kg/day orally given in divided doses every 6 hours and adults 250mg orally every 6 hours Penicillin (Epocrates, 2019). For uncomplicated Tx: retapamulin topical 1% apply to affected skin twice daily for 5 days. Pleuromutilin For more complicated Tx: erythromycin base: children 40 mg/kg/day orally given in divided doses every 6 hours and adults 250- 500mg orally every 6 hours Macrolide (Epocrates, 2019). For uncomplicated Tx: Ozenoxacin topical 1% apply to affected skin twice daily for 5 days. Quinolone For complicated Tx: cephalexin: children 25- 50 mg/kg/day orally given in divided doses every 6 hours and adults 250-500mg orally every 6 hours Cephalosporins (Epocrates, 2019). Infected S. aureus, Cephalexin 500mg orally every six hours for Sulfamethoxaz ole/ Clindamycin 150-300mg orally every six hours
