4. What evidence suggests that these liquids are evaporating? The evidence that proves that the liquids were evaporating was the temperature because the temperature probes that had the most change in temperature have had the warmest molecules escape in a vapor. 5. If we perspired alcohol, what might happen to the rate at which we “burn” the food we eat? Explain your reasoning. If we perspired alcohol, we would burn way more of the liquids that we consume. The rate at which it evaporates would cause the human body to sweat more even though it is cooling us down faster which in turn, the body would need to replenish what it had lost through the sweat. When the human body sweats, it loses electrolytes like potassium, sodium, and chloride. The lack of those electrolytes could change how the body is storing glycogen, muscle weakness, spasms, cramps, paralysis and respiratory problems. Sweating alcohol would help humans keep cool but they would need to consume way more liquid and other things like electrolytes. 6. Discuss other way s water helps organisms maintain homeostasis because of it unique structure. Be specific! Water is very important in maintaining homeostasis. Besides sweating, some other ways water is important because it carries toxins that have been made water-soluble out of the bod y. It also

raises the volume of blood which increases blood pressure and heart rate and also can dissolve gas for an easier oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange Questions 1) Does the alcohol percentage effect the results? 2) Is there anything that you could mix with water to make it work even better?
