Develop Project Schedules - The frst major task in developing the project schedule is to identfy the critcal path which is the sequence of schedule actvites determining the duraton of the path (generally the longest path) - The CP determines the earliest possible end date of the project - 2 methods for determining the CP - Two-Pass method - Enumeraton method Two-Pass Method - Used to determine the amount of slack/foat each actvity has - 2 logical passes should be made through the network - The frst pass is called the forward pass – The calculaton of the early start and early fnish dates for the uncompleted portons of all network actvites - The backwards pass – The calculaton of late fnish dates and late start dates for the uncompleted portons of all schedule actvites - Total foat – The amount of tme a schedule actvity may be delayed from its early start date without delaying the project end date - Free foat – The amount of tme a schedule actvity can be delayed without delaying the early start date of immediately following schedule actvites - The CP is the sequence of actvites from start to fnish that have no foat Enumeraton Method - List all of the paths through the network - The length of these paths are then calculated and the path with the longest duraton is the CP Program Evaluaton and Review Technique(PERT) - A project team starts by sequencing the actvites into a network - They create 3 tme estmates to complete each actvity - Optmistc - Most Likely Estimatedtime = Optimistic + 4 ( Most Likely ) + Pessimistic 6 - Pessimistc - Difcultes with using PERT
