The yards are all cut and maintained.● Common Meeting PlacesWhere do people in the neighborhood hang out? Who hangs out there and what hours of the day?The people in this neighborhood were outside in their garages. There were children playing on the school playground. Women were walking in exercise clothes around the school campus. Kids were playing baseball on the school campus. There were only two bicycle riders. This was on a Saturday at about 2:00 pm.● Indicators of Growth or DeclineIs this a “thriving” community or does it look “run down?” Is there new or ongoing construction? Businesses and Industries coming to the area? Are buildings, roadways, and public areas clean and well-kept. Do you see dirt, trash, or graffiti? This is a thriving community. It looks well kept up. There are duplexes on either side of the elementary school. Out of 25 duplexes only one needed a new paint job. The roads needed attention. There are multiple cracks in the roads that were treated with tar. There were no new construction sites noted. The area was well-kept with no evidence of graffiti or trash noted.● Employment OpportunitiesWhat places for employment are there is this area? Name the businesses and industries in this area. There are many places for employment in this area. A strip mall facing the loop has Ashley Furniture, Rooms to Go, Kohl’s, Natural Grocers. The restaurants are Cracker Barrel, Jack in the Box, Buffalo Wild Wings, TCBY Yogurt. There is a dentist office, a Kent Kwik convenience store, a Member’s Financial Federal Credit Union, and a small oil company named Tarpon and Pipe Supply.● TransportationHow to people get from one place to another?
