cooking faster as I assume more is more (mental model), as I think more I heat it the faster it get hotter, and sooner I can eat it, generally this is correct like for radio control where more you turn the dial, more the volume increases, but thermostat and electric oven works on the principle of on and off. Mental models are the conscious and the unconscious mental process that helps to make predictions about the external world. Like engineers have a deep mental model of how works so they can set up and fix it. But an average person only has mental model of how to operate it. If people know the mental model of Interactive systems then they can perform their work more efficiently, and if the artifact or systems starts to malfunction then they can better adapt.------------ In Cognitive psychology, mind is compared to as information processor( reservoir, digital computer or a telephone network) Traditional model focuses in what is happening inside the head of the person whereas the distributed model focus on what is happening across system of persons and artifacts. For example in cognitive system of airplane cockpit, there is interaction between pilot, captain the instrument panel and the air traffic controllers when flying a plane in altitude.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
