Connect the 1N-4007 diode (black with gray stripe at one end) between the spring clips next to the top banana jack. Arrange the diode so the gray stripe is at the left end. 5. Place a 1000-ohm resistor (brown, black, red) between the spring clips nearest the bottom banana jack on the board. 6. Connect a wire lead between spring clips at the left end of the diode and the resistor. 7. Put alligator clips on the Voltage Sensors leads and connect the alligator clips of the Channel A sensor at each end of the diode. 8. Connect the alligator clips of the Channel B sensor at each end of the resistor. 9. Plug the banana plug patch cords from the ‘OUTPUT’ port of the PASCO 750 Interface into the banana jacks.
Procedure 1. In DataStudio, click ‘Start’ to begin recording data. The Signal Generator will start automatically 2. Watch the Graph display of voltage versus time. The channel “A” trace on the Scope display is the voltage across the diode. The channel “B” trace is the voltage across the resistor.
