ConceptsLocus of ControlOnes locus of control represents one’s beliefs as to whether external or internal forces control one’s destiny. Ursula Burns has an internal locus of control because she believes that she is the one who is in control of her destiny. It states in the case that African Americans with Burns’ background were not common, but she did not see her race and low socioeconomic status as a liability. Burns’ also states that she received her position because she was a hard worker and high performer. Time Management
Angel PaganMAN 352Prof. Dinur11/17/13Time management refers to the techniques designed to enable people to get more done in less time with better results. Burns displays good use of time management because she was responsible for the engineering section and five other separate divisions. All together, including all of her groups, she was responsible for over 80 percent of Xerox’s profits this definitely displays good use of time management skills because there is only so much one person can do and this person did a lot. She had to supervise the entire department by herself and had 160,000 employees under her. She exhibits good time management skills and the results are shown in the profits of Xerox.
