dramatically increase their skills. The results could be some of the best female athletes we’d ever see. Issue/example #2: Social class Sports should be open to people of all classes. Class does not affect your natural ability as an athlete. It’s pretty ridiculous how certain youth sports like soccer and volleyball have outrageous fees for kids to play them. There are so many great, young athletes out there that have the skills to play those sports, but not the money to join the teams for them. The same goes for spectating sports, too. Sports help bring people from a vast variety of backgrounds together. I admire teams that keep their tickets reasonably priced rather than raising them because they want what’s best for the fans.

2.) It’s very odd to think of eating as a sport. I don’t think it should be considered as one. I think it’s more of a competition. Eating food is not an activity that requires athletic skill. The same could be said for video games and poker, but those activities involve coordination, specific strategies, composure-there’s a lot more played into effect for those activities. Whereas eating is something we naturally do as humans, so there’s no great skill in it. 3.) U.S. study of sport tells me about the place of sport in the U.S. is that it’s not hard to classify an activity as a sport. If an activity gets a governed body, media attention, and driven competitors, our country basically makes it a sport. Why would ESPN ever broadcast a competition of eating? Especially eating that promotes gluttony. Declaring what should become a sport should not be decided upon whether it gets viewers or brings in a lot of money. A lot of greed is involved with sports in the U.S. and it really defeats the meaning of what makes sports special.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
