The former president Obama in 2011 asked EPA to "withdraw its proposed national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS) for ozone” (Heinzerling, 2014). This was aimed at ensuring that communities could attract establishment of new companies that would produce energy. Research carried out by the National Surveys on Energy, and Environmental in 2016 indicate that most people do not believe that global warming is occurring. Most of those who support the same are not even confident.

ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES 5 Environmental sustainability involves meeting the present environmental needs while making sure that the same is achievable in the future. It is closely related to stewardship which mainly deals with conservation and practices that ensure there is sustainability. Sound science plays a major role in making citizens aware of the problems associated with global warming. In turn, they ensure they protect the same.
