This article goes into great lengths by using surveys and data analysis to inform medical professionals of the need to educate patients on ADRD. This article serves as an eye-opener on the importance of educating patients on prevention and medical management of ADRD. The number of individuals with Alzheimer’s dementia is estimated to increase by millions. Currently, 5.8 million Americans have Alzheimer's dementia, and these numbers are expected to reach 13.8 million by 2050 (Alzheimer’s Disease, 2019). Asfuture medical professionals, it is necessary to ensure that we are equipping patients with the knowledge and tools to combat this disease.

This article would be highly recommended to inform professional practice. This article serves as a tool to inform healthcare professionals that there is a need to increase conversations concerning Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). According to this survey that involved the majority of college graduates, the perception on if ADRD is preventable or able to be treated is an indication that patients need additional education on this disease. If healthcare professionals would read this article, then there should be a decrease in the number of ADRD cases in America.
