lower growth in economy is expected. The second reason is slower productivity growth, but the cause is hard to tell. Moreover, the author suggests Mr. President that in order to promote the whole economy, he could promote the education. Because now, the situation is the wage of skilled workers is increasing but that of unskilled workers is decreasing. This situation causes the wage gap and the gap is still increasing. Finally

about the dollar, the author says it depends. It will benefit someone and it will hurt someone, so leave it here. My opinion: I agree with the author’s point of view. First, for the new policy Mr. President wants to implement, it is not proper now. As the author says, the increase in aggregate demand and services is not what the economy needs right now. He targets the wrong problem. Second, the result of his policy could lead the opposite situation than his expectation. If he wants to implement expansionary fiscal policy, it will lead to higher interest rate and larger government budget deficit. Higher interest rate will lead to less investment. Also, if interest rate is high, people would like to save their money rather than spend. It is decrease in both investment and consumption. For budget deficit, higher interest rate will also lead government debt interest payment increases, which is not worth. Therefore, I do not agree with Mr. President’s new fiscal policy. Second, I agree with the problem the author points out. Now there would not be huge increase because of the stabilized population, the stabilized role of women and the new policy about immigration, which I strongly disagree with. I heard news, which is a Pakistani engineer was prohibited from entering in the US. I was so surprised. The US is actually a country of immigrants, and it cannot be great without pervious immigrants. His new policy, “economic nationalism” will definitely lead to the decline of labor force. The second reason why economy declined that the author mentions is the decline of productivity. It is true that if the number of high-educated people increases, the more technological progress they will make. With more technological progress, the productivity will increase. However, increase people’s educated level is not an easy thing. This is a time-consuming and money-consuming stuff. Other than that, economists could not find a better way to solve the decline in productivity.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
