Project Planning Phase This is the second phase that was project planning. This phase it focuses on the roadmap that everyone will follow. It involves setting goals which are S.M.A.R.T and CLEAR. During this phase, the scope of the project is defined and a project management plan is developed. It involves identifying the cost, quality, available resources, and a realistic timetable. The project plans also includes establishing baselines or performance measures. These are generated using the scope, schedule and cost of a project. A baseline is essential to determine if a project is on track. At this time, roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, so everyone involved knows what they are accountable for. Here are some of the documents a PM will create during this phase to ensure the project will stay on track. Having that the project management will be about the construction of roads and dams in Nairobi County. The roles are defined in this phase. This project phase it requires many stakeholders who will be assigned various duties that would help in sharing the duties. There are public interests that they requires roads and dams for water supply. At this phase the risk management plan is formulated that include common risks like unrealistic time of completion, and cost of estimates, customer review cycle, budget cuts, changing requirements and lack of committed resources ( Stark, 2015).
PROJECT MANAGEMENT 5 Project Execution Phase This is where the project team does the work to crate the final deliverables of the project. It is the largest part of most projects and it goes far better if adequate time was taken to properly plan the work of the project. The expenditure that is required at this phase for the construction of the roads and dams is high. This is because there are various process that takes place at this point and they require financing. The project manager involvement at this phase is very high. This is because the team requires to be supervised and controlled. Resources' tasks are distributed and teams are informed of responsibilities. This is a good time to bring up important project related information. This is the phase where deliverables are developed and completed. This often feels like the meat of the project since a lot is happening during this time, like status reports and meetings, development updates, and performance reports ( Nicholas & Steyn, 2017) . A “kick-off” meeting usually marks the start of the Project Execution phase where the teams involved are informed of their responsibilities. The project which is construction of roads and dams, it demands many stakeholders who will help in ensuring that project is carried out well.
