the actors and actresses did not dress in costume, the audience would not be as in tune with the film. Camera is a large portion of cinematography. The shot could be identified as a cardinal component. This includes all subject matter within the screen frame at the time of shot. The different angles of a camera shot are as follows: bird’s-eye view, high angle, eye-level, and low angle. Throughout “Albert Nobbs,” the camera shot is an eye-level view. This shot helps the audience feel as if they are included within the setting because it makes them feel on the same level. Sound is also a key feature within the world of cinema. Two different forms of sound are used in the movie “Albert Nobbs.” Non-diegetic is the sound without a primary connection to the film itself. An example of this would be the background music during the film. Diegetic sound has a connection to what is occurring during the scene. An example of diegetic sound in “Albert Nobbs” would be during the dinner scene. The people staying at the hotel had just finished their dinner and begin to dance. The music to which they are dancing to is part of what is going on. Therefore, it would be classified as diegetic. In conclusion, “Albert Nobbs” includes many different key variables in film. “Albert Nobbs” would be recommended for anyone looking to establish a basic understanding of main formal qualities in a motion picture. Altogether the sound, the mise-en-scene, and the sound came together to develop a great movie in “Albert Nobbs.”
