seeing that despite the number of cases which were presented as reports from groups and individuals, no step was taken against people who tortured and killed individuals in Iraq ( Kaplan, Lawrence, Kristol, and Whitfield, 19) . This is because according to the functions which have been explained regarding the responsibilities of ICC, it is surprising to note that these nations which invaded Iraq violated the law. There are also people who have given reports regarding cases of rape which occurred during the time when the forces were operating in Iraq ( Karsh, Efraim, 25) . This means that soldiers conducted these acts yet no one of them was held accountable according to records. The following photo was taken from one of the scenes and it reveals the nature of the war and how people were tortured by the army officials. It is also said that other deadly methods were used by forces to obtain information from the suspects which was also against the rights of people. Figure 1
Human rights organizations also intervened considering that there was evidence based on reports from individuals which required ICC to take action against individuals who had been affected by the war mainly due to the operations of the army. The given details on the violation of human rights laws by the army creates a question of whether ICC is transparent in its dealings seeing that there is no prove or evidence neither information which shows what was done to the perpetrators of the law. It seems like some nations have immunity seeing that there was a need for addressing cases which were against humanity which were conducted by the given nations which participated in the war. No soldier has ever appeared in the court or has ever been summoned by the court despite the great deal of evidence that is available in both media and individual testimonies which have been given concerning inhumane actions which were conducted by the armies. This also creates a concern on whether the decisions which were made by the court are influenced by certain nations which can be considered as superior ( Ferencz, Benjamin, 61) . This is because the United States as well as Britain were not questioned and have never been held accountable of the actions which were done. It is also the reasons why some people feel like ICC is governed by other forces from another channel which should be the case. It may claim to be independent but the fact that it has not brought cases of United States on board shows that ICC is not free rather its decisions are influenced by certain nations. For a while, ICC has been seen to concentrate on what is happening in Africa while there are matters which needs to be handled that concerns other nations. The reason why it is seen like that is a lot of concentration on African nations is because majority of the cases which have been handled so far and the people who have prosecuted most of them comes from Africa ( Goldsmith, Jack, 10) . This however should not be the measuring line but the fact that ICC has ignored the atrocities which were conducted in Iraq by the American
