Management Plan 2 NITROFURANTOIN CAN CAUSE ADVERSE REACTIONS SUCH AS HEADEACHE, NAUSEA, VOMITING, DIARRHEA ,URINE DISCOLORATION, ETC. (“NITROFURANTOIN”, 2019) I WILL ENCOURAGE THE PATIENT TO CALL TO THE CLINIC IF SHE IS EXPERIENCING SOME SIDE EFFECTS SUCH AS SENSITIVITY TO HEAT OR COLD, SHORTNESS OF BREATH, LUPUS LIKE RASH ON THE CHEEKS OR OTHER BODY PARTS, SEVERE LOSS OF STRENGTH AND ENERGY, AND ASSOCIATED DIARRHEA LIKE ABDOMINAL PAIN OR CRAMP.(“NITROFURANTOIN”, 2019) I WILL ENCOURAGE THE PATIENT TO DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS. PATIENT WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO VOIDING AFTER SEX, WIPING FROM FRONT-TO-BACK, USE OF NON BARRIER CONTRACEPTION, AND AVOIDANCE SPERMICIDE. I WILL EXPLAIN THE BENEFITS OF THE AZITHROMYCIN IN THE TREATMENT OF THE CHLAMYDIA INFECTION.

Management Plan 3 - THE AZITHROMYCIN SINGLE DOSE CAN BE TAKEN WITH FOOD AND WITHOUT . BOTH PILLS IS GOING TO BE TAKEN AT ONCE.(“AZITHROMYCIN”, 2019) PT. WILL BE EDUCATED ABOUT THE SIDE EFFECTS OF THE AZITHROMYCIN SUCH AS AN ALLERGIC REACTION, LIKE RASH; HIVES; ITCHING; RED, SWOLLEN, BLISTERED, OR PEELING SKIN WITH OR WITHOUT FEVER ETC. PT. WILL BE ADVISED TO CALL IMMEDIATELY IF ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS DEVELOPED. (“AZITHROMYCIN”, 2019) PATIENT WILL BE EDUCATED ABOUT STI , AS WELL AS CHLAMYDIA INFECTION SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS. PATIENT WILL BE EDUCATED ABOUT CHLAMYDIA INFECTION PREVENTION. THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO PREVENT CHLAMYDIA IS TO AVOID SEXUAL INTERCOURSE. ALSO, IS RECOMMENDED TO USE CONDOM EVERY TIME THAT YOU HAVE SEX, SCREENING FOR CHLAMYDIA INFECTION EVERY YEAR AND DO NOT HAVE SEX IF YOU OR YOUR SEXUAL PARTNER HAS ABNORMAL DISCHARGE, BURNING WITH URINATION, OR A GENITAL RASH OR SORE. (KATZMAN,2016) PATIENT WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO ABSTAIN FROM SEXUAL INTERCOURSE UNTIL THEY AND THEIR SEX PARTNERS HAVE BEEN ADEQUATELY TREATED AND SYMPTOMS HAD RESOLVED. SEXUAL PARTNER WILL BE NOTIFIED, EXAMINED AND TREATED AS WELL. I WILL ENCOURAGE THE PATIENT TO TALK WITH HER BOYFRIEND. CHLAMYDIA, GONORRHEA, AND OTHER SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS ARE REPORTABLE DISEASES.

Management Plan 4 PATIENT WILL BE COUNSELED O MONITOR FOR SYMPTOM RESOLUTION AND RETURN FOR EVALUATION OF PERSISTENT OR RECURRENT SYMPTOMS OF BOTH CONDITIONS. PATIENT FOLLOW UP IN THREE MONTHS AFTER TREATMENT IS COMPLETE FOR. CHLAMYDIA TEST WILL BE OBTAINED IN THIS DAY FOR THE EXPRESS PURPOSE OF ASSESSING WHETHER THE ADMINISTERED ANTIBIOTIC REGIMEN ERADICATED THE PATHOGEN. (KATZMAN,2016) PATIENT WILL BE OFFERED THE HPV VACCINE TODAY NOTE: FOLLOW UP FOR THIS PATIENT IS NOT GOING TO BE NECESSARY UNTIL SHE REPORTED CONCURRENT OR PERSISTENT SYMPTOMS. IN TREATING PATIENTS WITH UNCOMPLICATED ACUTE CYSTITIS, NO FOLLOW-UP MONITORING IS NECESSARY. WHEN TREATING PATIENTS WITH COMPLICATED ACUTE CYSTITIS, IT IS OFTEN USEFUL TO REPEAT A URINALYSIS AND URINE CULTURE TO BE CERTAIN THAT THE INFECTION HAS RESOLVED. (FOXMAN, 2015 )
