Appendices Page | 218 2017 APPENDIX “G” Actual weights vs. Volume weights (always use the greater weight). Weight/Volume Ratios y Sea 1 : 1 (1 metric ton = 1 cubic metre) Quick Calculations (Sea in metric units) y Sea shipment ~ dims are 2.5 m L x 1.3 m W x 1.8 m H, and weighs 2,356 kg i) Determine actual volume ~ 2.5 x 1.3 x 1.8 = 5.85 m 3 ii) Determine actual weight ~ 2,356 kg ÷ 1,000 = 2.356 metric tons Therefore, since the actual volume of the shipment (5.85 cubic metres) is larger than the actual weight (2.36 tons), use the volume weight.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
