Lastly, America should reconsider implementing the military draft because it would promote positive notions about the military as a whole. Mr. John Kelly, a retired General, placed

his beliefs in the fact that those who haven’t served in the military cannot really understand those who have. This might cause the military’s reputation to be misconstrued and potentially portrayed as negative. But, by bringing back the draft, Haberman believes that it could “restore a healthier sense of the military’s proper place in our national life”. (Source #3) By having a draft and having a fair lottery of men and women to serve the country, more will get exposed to the lifestyle and experience it for themselves, making them less likely to make presumptions and false statements on the true identity of the military. Conclusively, the United States military should strongly reconsider the relaunch of the draft force. I believe that it would more effectively unify the country, increase the strength of the force, and enable positive thoughts on the military. There is an unspoken greatness surrounding being a military member, and it should be for all Americans to experience. A greater cohesion of America will come to fruition with the draft, and it will be beneficial to all members involved.
