It is played with a racket and a small ball on a rectangular court with a net strung between the midpoints of the longer sides of the court. You can play it indoors or outdoors. This game is the most popular spectator and participation sport in the world. ________ 6. This is another game that involves a ball. In this game two teams hit a big ball back and forth across a net. Kia likes to play this sport with her friends. ________ 7. This is probably the most popular of all American games. It involves a bat and ball. It involves some running, but often team members spend a lot of time just standing around. ________ 8. This field game involves two opposing teams. It is played with a ball and a special netted stick, or crosse. The game is considered the oldest sport originating in North America, descending from a game called baggataway. ________ 9. This isn’t a very active game. To play this game you sit around a table with one, two or three friends. You can even play alone if you like. Sammy likes to play this game with his friends on Saturday nights. ________ 10. Asha likes to play this game with one or three other players. They use lightweight rackets and a shuttlecock, a cork ball fitted with stabilizing feathers. They hit the shuttlecock back and forth over a net, trying to keep it from hitting the ground. Sometimes they play this game outdoors on a level grassy area or beach. Sometime they play it at the local gym. ________ 11. This game is very popular in the United States. It is a game played on a rectangular court, generally indoors, by two five-player teams.The primary objective of the game is to score more points than the opposition by putting a round ball through a circular band, called a rim.
