Despite his numerous arrests and the vehicular manslaughter of Cari Lightner, Clarence Busch only served twenty one months in jail. Cari Lightner’s mother, Candy Lightner was obviously heartbroken over this and felt compelled to do something to help other mothers who felt her pain. Mothers Against Drunk Driving was founded by Candy Lightner and she began lobbying for more investigation regarding driving under the influence.
