To understand the sociological make-up of the members of terrorism groups, their ideologies, and their relationship to their state, it is important to understand several psychological factors concerning terrorism. Psychology is important as it explores more concepts about terrorism activities as compared to any other approach available. There are several important concepts concerning the psychology of terrorists. Such are the terrorist motivation, their mentality, and the process of joining the terrorism groups. The sociological make-up of the terrorist groups comprises of drawing important disciplines the psychological structure of the terrorism. The terrorist motivation is one of the basic questions that a psychological approach to terrorism tries to explain. Several questions are asked beyond their motivation. Such questions are, who terrorists are, and what kind of people have an interest in joining terrorism groups to commit violent terrorism events in public places. There have been several attempts to explain terrorism's motivation from a psychiatric point of understanding or a psychological view ( Noviello, pg.5, 2020) . Most of the studies that have been conducted on the psychological approach have attempted to explain what motivates terrorists and what are the characteristics of people who are terrorists are who may become terrorists in the future. Although an understanding of a terrorist's mindset can be an important factor in fully defining the concept behind terrorist motivation, numerous psychologists have not found a way to define the idea fully. A conference that was held by Brian M. Jenkins had illustrated that several factors could be associated with the motivation of the terrorists. The main ideas that were discussed in the meeting were the mindset of the terrorists, how there are recruited as well as the significance of the recruitment, ideology, how terrorist conduct decision making and their target

As there have not been definitive methods to explain the idea behind the motivation of the terrorists, a lot of studies have been continually conducted using the psychological approach. It is worth noting that other approaches are not ignored in the study of terrorism effects. Rather, the psychological approach is considered the most effective method as it discusses the matter more widely. The process of joining terrorism groups mainly involves employment, just like any other sector does. Studies have shown that the most hired or employed terrorists are people who have alienated or have dropped out of society. The terrorist groups also target those with little education as they are just bored with nothing constructive to do. There is no exception to gender concerning the recruitment of terrorists.
