follow. A leader must make sure that they can do and know how to do what they expect of others. State championship for Travelogue. That was the culmination of months of hard work, hours of practice, and working with others to lead our band to where we wanted to be. I was not alone during those months, so I can’t just say that it was just my leadership that led us there. It was Matthew, Natalie, and myself working as a team and learning from each other. We all had our moments of leadership. Through our teamwork, we all pushed our band to where they needed to be. We achieved fourth at State because of our efforts and because each of us: Matthew, Natalie, and I worked better and harder than those who came before us. With leaders that were focused on the Shamrock Pride, the band would be able to go much farther than we did last season. As I discussed in my presentation, group focused leaders would be able to connect with each member individually and share goals, visions, and dreams. Leaders have to be able to start the fire that will drive a group to success. It has been successful in the past, and it can be widely and efficiently used. By positively influencing others, leaders can build momentum to promote change. There are a few things I utilize to stay positive in times of adversity. I listen to music and exercise to burn off stress and excess energy. I also use a stress ball and talk to my therapist when my stress levels are too high for me to handle on my own. I definitely rely on others to help me focus on positivity by putting others needs before mine in times of great adversity. When I see others struggling, I always feel the need to help so that they can perform to their very best.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
