I also believe that faith development is related to cognitive development so that a child is able to make decisions regarding their faith as they progress a cross-age. Arguably, the seven stages of faith development mirror the cognitive development of a person across life span so that they move from having no affiliations to fully understanding different religious affiliations and choosing to subscribe to one particular faith. According to Piaget’s theory, children take an active learning process characterized by experimentation and active observation of what is happening around their world.
