Performing NetBackup for DB2 restores withSnapshot Client methodsPerform NetBackup for DB2 Snapshot Client restores from the DB2 client. Thefollowing describes two methods of user-directed restores and restoring from asnapshot backup:Use the NetBackup for DB2 Recovery Wizard to select thefiles you want to restore and the parameters for the restore. If the backup image was created with Snapshot Clientmethods, the restore uses Snapshot Client methods.Restore using the Backup,Archive, and Restoreinterface (user-directed)Use thebpdb2proxycommand. You must be the DB2 userto use thebpdb2proxycommand. When performing arestore, specify the-restoreoption withbpdb2proxy.Note:The backup image you restore withbpdb2proxymust be from a Snapshot Client method backup, otherwise, the restore fails.Use thebpdb2proxycommand in the following format torestore a DB2 database with a Snapshot Client method:Windows:install_path\NetBackup\bin\bpdb2proxy-restore -ddbalias-uuser-ppasswordUNIX:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpdb2proxy-restore -ddbalias-uuser-ppasswordRestore using the commandline (user-directed)See“About NetBackup for DB2 restores of volumes and filesystems using snapshot rollback”on page 115.Restore from a snapshotbackupSee“Performing NetBackup for DB2 backups with Snapshot Client methods”on page 129.See“Performing a snapshot rollback restore from the Java or Windows interface”on page 117.131Using Snapshot Client with NetBackup for DB2Performing NetBackup for DB2 restores with Snapshot Client methods
