Additionally, Euthanasia and assisted suicide walks a fine line with murder because the doctor administers the way of death, even if the patient wants to die. An analogy for Euthanasia and PAS is comparing this to a murder. Murder is still murder if a person asked someone to shoot them so they can die. The person who was asked to shoot the person is still found guilty of murder, even though the other person told them to pull the trigger. When doctors break the Oath that they swore, the image of the medical field is tainted. Until a day comes where medical professionals do not hereby this code, then Euthanasia and PAS will always be morally incorrect since a sworn oath is being broken, to only attempt to “heal” the patient (Hippocrates). Solutions The topic of Euthanasia and PAS is a strong debatable topic that is leaning more and more towards legalization. Therefore, action ensure that America does not nationally legalize it

ETHICS AGAINST EUTHANASIA & PAS 8 needs to start immediately, as well as efforts to stop the global outbreak of the legalization of Euthanasia and PAS. While this may seem like an extensive issue, solutions to this problem are not complicated. The most influential claim against the legalization and practice of Euthanasia and PAS is the infringement of the Hippocratic Oath. For those in the medical practice, doctors should choose to follow the Hippocratic Oath that they swore, which will stop Euthanasia and PAS from occurring. Euthanasia and PAS will stop occurring from those decisions by doctors since those in the medical field are influence whether or not Euthanasia and PAS is made possible. Additionally, organizations (already formed or to be formed) can take part in convincing those in the medical field to follow the Hippocratic Oath. A way which organizations can fulfill this is by holding events for the cause. These events can include moving speeches and stories by those who recovered from a life-threatening disease to persuade those in the medical field and patients who are considering Euthanasia or PAS to not take part in this practice. Lastly, congressional decisions, both on national and state levels, can be made to ensure that Euthanasia and PAS is made illegal. Laws outlawing these practices can be made, with heavy prison sentences for those in the medical field who stay involved or take part in Euthanasia and PAS. Conclusion By actively making efforts in the communities and cities of America (and other countries) against Euthanasia and PAS, lives can be saved. Life is a gift, and not a choice. Every person will die someday and limiting a person’s life should not even be considered because the body will die when it is ready. Technology advances rapidly, therefore no one can know what medical

The families of the patient will miss out on time with their loved one, and a patient should strive to spend as much time with their friends and families before they pass. For a patient to end their own life is selfish, not thinking of the pain they will leave behind with those that love him or her.
