19 Section V: Fire Related Contingencies 1. In the event of fire, the sprinkler system should activate, and the fire department will be alerted immediately. The fire safe animal room will be put into lockdown and all vents will close. The emergency door latch will auto open and all dogs will be released into the fenced yard. 2. In the event that the sprinklers do not activate, personnel are not expected to combat the fire. All personnel should follow the 2 exit strategies based on the source of the fire. If the sign of fire is coming from front of house use the back room exit door. If the fire is coming from the back of house use the front exit strategy. All personnel should cross the street and convene under the tall oak tree to await emergency services. 3. The CEO will hold a meeting detailing the event and dismiss the crew with the exception of one team member. 4. The CEO and team member will contact all dog owners to alert them to pick up. Any dogs that cannot be picked up within the hour will be temporarily held at a 24-hour pet rescue facility. 5. The CEO will contact all personnel’s family 6. The CEO will take pictures of the damage and stay to answer questions from the authorities and/or media 7. The CEO will not re-enter the site until emergency services has cleared them to do so Section VI: Loss of Critical Services Loss of Electrical Power 1. The CEO will turn on the backup generators which are able to support a full day of operations. 2. The backup customer information and billing process systems will be utilized during this time. The backup systems are located below the point of sales system in the bottom cabinet. All personnel are trained in these systems. 3. If power is not on by the next day operations will be suspended until further notice and all personnel and appointments will be contacted. Loss of Telecommunications 1. The CEO will contact the telecommunications provider and have a tech come onsite to fix the issue. All dog care operations will continue as normal. 2. In the event that all cell and landline service is down, the CEO will stay later to ensure all dogs make it out safely. In the event that a dog is not picked up the CEO will drop them off at the pet rescue facility. The CEO will be responsible for coordinating with the authorities to give emergency information to be broadcast on the local emergency broadcast system. 20 1. In the event that there is a plumbing issue the CEO will determine the severity as per city code. If the issue violates city code the business will be forced to shut down for the day and all dogs will be sent to a 24 hour pet rescue facility.
