This is called shadowing. With Remote Assistance, the end user initiates the Remote Assistance session, whereas a RemoteDesktop session is initiated on the management computer. Remote Assistance is enabled by defaulton most versions of windows. The Windows Remote Assistance rule is automatically enabled in the Windows firewall when you enable Remote Assistance to allow its traffic through. Remote Assistance Invitations 0:58-1:59 Remote Assistance can be used only with the permission of the end user who is logged into the system. The user must create an invitation and send it to the administrator. Remote Assistance invitations can be created in three ways. You can save the invitation as a file, send the invitation in an email, or use Easy Connect. If you choose the Easy Connect option, Remote Assistance generates a temporary password that is given to the administrator, who can use it to connect to the computer using a peer to peer connection. The administrator providing remote assistance must receive the invitation along with a password. For security purposes this password should be sent using a different method than that used to transmitthe invitation. For example, the invitation could be sent via email, but the password sent via text message. Remote Assistance invitations can be used for only a limited time, and once the Remote Assistancesession is closed, it is not possible to reconnect to that same session again. If addition help is required, a new Remote Assistance invitation must be issued because the previous one is no longer valid. Remote Assistance Security 2:00-2:22 As an administrator, you should view Remote Assistance invitations with caution. You should only accept invitations from people you know and trust. If an invitation comes from outside the company. You may not want to open it, because it's possible for an attacker to create a virus or worm and imbed it inside of something that looks like a Remote Assistance invitation. Make sure that the invitation is valid before you open it. Remote Assistance Session Management 2:23-2:56

During a remote assistance session, the end user remains logged into the computer and can terminate the session at any time. The default connection setting is view only, allowing the administrator to see what the end user is doing, but not take control of the system. However, the administrator can request control, which will allow them to interact directly with the computer being serviced. If necessary, the end user can take back control, which will return the administrator's access to view only. The end user can also temporarily block the administrator from viewing their desktop by pausing the Remote Assistance session. Summary 2:57-3:04 In this lesson we talked about Windows Remote Assistance. We talked about what Remote Assistancedoes, and we talked the steps you need to follow to set up a Remote Assistance session.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
