provides numerous solutions one being protection using single-purpose key management security solutions. He also advises against storing keys on the same server that contains sensitive data. Lastly, key management services rendered by cloud vendors should be avoided because key custody is not under one’s complete control (Probasco, 2016). While the author provides pensive insights about the challenges and solutions, he fails to highlight cost-management approaches that organisations can utilise to achieve the dual results of data safety and cost optimisation. According to Osuna, Cecchetti & Vinson (2010), storage encryption technology is costly and often leads to a rise in administration overheads. Protection is 90% concerned with putting in place robust processes and 10% on acquiring the appropriate software. The author should have addressed measures and process that a firm can utilise to ensure safe storage and an optimal cost.

KEY MANAGEMENT CHALLENGES 3 Probasco (2016) has made me realise that inappropriate storage and protection of encryption keys remains a major challenge. In fact, IT managers expose organizations to even more vulnerable through their poor key storage mechanisms. I have also learned that it is a bad idea to entrust cloud vendors with key encryption storage if we want retain custodial ownership of the keys. References Osuna, A., Cecchetti, L. & Vinson, E.
