Windows 10 Windows 10 includes many backup tools used in earlier versions of Windows: The Backup and Restore console tool that was removed from Windows 8.1 has been restored in Windows 10. Windows 10 includes File History, as found in Windows 8.1. Windows 10 includes the option to create a System Image Backup, as found in Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Keep the following facts in mind when configuring backups: Back up user data more often than system state data (it changes more frequently). Back up system state data and applications (or make a restore point) before you make a system change. During a system state backup, all system configuration information is backed up (system data cannot be backed up selectively in portions). Be sure to test your backup and restore strategy. It does no good to back up your data if you can't restore it. Backup media should be stored offsite to prevent the same disaster from affecting the network and the backup media. Backups can be scheduled using the tools within the backup utility, or by creating a new task in the Scheduled Tasks folder in the Control Panel. Creating Backups in Windows 0:00-1:37 In this demonstration, we're going to take a look at how you can use the Windows Backup and Restore utility to back up files and folders in your file system. Now the utility we're going to use to do this, which is the Windows Backup and Restore utility, is provided on both Windows 10 and Windows 7 but it is not provided on Windows 8. Basically Windows 10 now provides the backup utilities that were available in both Windows 7 and in Windows 8. So you have your choice on Windows 10 as to which one you want to use. In order to run the Windows Backup and Restore utility we go to Control Panel. I'll go down to my Windows icon, right-click, and go to Control Panel and it's located under System and Security. Now notice down here we have an option for Backup and Restore Windows 7, we also have an option for File History. File History is the main backup utility used with Windows 8 while the Backup and Restore utility is the main backup utility used with Windows 7. As I said earlier, on Windows 10 you can use either one. In this demonstration we're going to focus on this utility so I'm going to click that option. Now notice here we see a message indicating that Windows Backup has not been set up. This is the first time I've run the Backup and Restore utility on this particular system. So I need to come over here and click on Setup Backup. Now please be aware that with the Windows Backup and Restore utility you can define one backup job at a time specifying what will be backed up and when it will be backed up. You cannot create multiple backup jobs that backup different types of data on different schedules. You only have the option defining one backup schedule.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
