objectivity to the acceptance process and increases the chance of final product, service, or result acceptance by validating each deliverable” (Project Management Institute, 2013).The scope validation for this project will utilize the standard PM tools of the Project plan,Requirements Traceability Matrix, Verified Deliverables and Work Performance Data (Defects), Scope statement and WBS. The Project Manager will verify the documented project deliverables against the scope statement and WBS ensuring that the project and scope are or have met the stated criteria. Upon verification, the Project Manager will meet with the project sponsor to obtain sign off acceptance
of the project deliverable acceptance document. This will ensure that project work remains within the scope of the project on a consistent basis throughout the life of the project.Scope controlThe above process will allow the project manager and team to assess scope throughout the project. A detailed scope management plan will be created and reviewed in conjunction with the project plan and the WBS. The project team will ensure that they perform only the work contained within the WBS.As issues arise or additional requirements are identified, a change control process will be triggered, where a change control request will be created and presented to the project manager who will provide initial review and approvals to move forward with the impact assessment and finalization of the change control request. Once the impact assessment and change control documents have been completed, the project manager will present the proposed change control tothe change control board. If approved, the change will be added to all applicable project documents and the change will be communicate to all project team members and stakeholders. Additional requirements cannot be included/added until approvals have been received and signedoff on. This process ensures that the project scope is controlled and monitored to reduce potentialunnecessary scope creep. Time Management PlanIntroductionTime Management includes “The processes required to manage the timely completion of the project” (Project Management Institute., 2013). While the project schedule development uses the “outputs from the processes to define activities, sequence activities, estimate activity resources, and estimate activity durations in combination with the scheduling tool to produce the schedule model” (Project Management Institute., 2013). According to the PMBOK guide “As the
project activities are being performed, the majority of effort in the Project Time Management Knowledge Area will occur in the Control Schedule process to ensure completion of project work in a timely manner” (Project Management Institute., 2013). For the WRPS Software project, the team will be using these project management principles to oversee project timelines, the details of the plan are broken out below.
