making themselves independent to make their parents proud while working overseas.Respondent 1 has no comment whatsoever.Mostly, students are becoming more sensitive towards this problem. They manage toadjust and adapt to certain changes. They make logical findings and reasoning to make thosethings clear then accept it the way it is. They tend to make it simpler but they’re making itdramatic so some parts of it, it is hard to accept but they have to. Being logical to this problem isbeing adapted to changes and being sensitive about this. Most respondents that deal with thismanage to perform all 3 effects in one go. Those students are stronger and wise in the future. It can be reasoned from the outcomes that the effects of having an OFW parent has hugeimpacts to the perspective of life of the respondents.4. The ways they employ in their day to day living. These students manage to employ ways on dealing their day-to-day living without theirparent/s around. It’s either they socialize, become strong independent individual or becomeneutral about their situation.Respondents 1, 7, 9, 11, 14, 15, and 20 make their own ways on dealing their day-to-dayliving. Their statements were, “We have to become independent.”, “Run a business.”, “Make myown decisions.” Etc. They now stand for themselves and can now live independently. They havenow coped up and manage to get stronger, accept all the things and be responsible enough to betrusted. Respondents 3, 4, 8, 12, 16, 18, and 19 became socially active. They hang out with
27friends and forget about the longings they feel. This means that they now accept that OFWparents are doing everything to make their life good. They find ways on communicating withtheir family. (Video call, text roaming, landline calls, etc.). They feel that even if they’re faraway, they can still talk to each other and make memories. They share their thoughts throughweb cam or other messaging tools or methods. Respondents 2, 5, 6, 10, 11, 13, 17 do not reallyadjust to change. They live their normal lives as if everything’s out of control. They keep their minds in onepoint that is their parents are just working in the city of Manila and will come home after. Theydon’t usually over think these things and just relax the mood. They don’t really care much butthey sure miss their parents. These students prefer to just do what is there to do rather than to dosomething it’s not worth to do and just a waste of time and energy. It can be reasoned from the outcomes that the effects of having an OFW parent has hugeimpacts to the way of living and what the respondents will employ to manage their day-to-dayliving.5. The ways they employ dealing with their personal issues.Personal issues are uncertain. We can’t really determine it until we discover it. Thosestudents who discovered their issues create ways to employ to deal with these issues. This wayscan be positive, secretive or communicative and it depends on the student. This is more onopinions so the ways are somewhat differ but similar in other aspects.
