3 Analysis 1. Essential elements to be a musician entrepreneur. To define a musical entrepreneur, we have to understand what an entrepreneur is. Oneal (1993) defined that entrepreneur is a people or a group of people who are willing to take risks and create values with a business that has special characters that others do not. To narrow down the definition of art entrepreneurship, Chang and Wyszomirski (2015) expressed that art entrepreneurship is a process that artists seek to support their creativity and autonomy, improve their adaptability and create not only artistic but also economic and social value. Therefore, the definition of musical entrepreneur can be concisely understood as a management process that a person take risk and create values to the art, economy and society with their musical talent. According to Coleman (2018), “In the 21 st century, to be a musician is to be an entrepreneur.” Consequently, a musical entrepreneur needs to have a comprehensive characteristic to be a business person as well as music talent. There are four main elements that can make up a musical entrepreneur which are, passion, positivity, perseverance and proactivity (Astrid Baumgardner, 2017). The first element is passion which means an artist must love what he/she is doing no matter what it is. That passion will help a musician to have enough energy and creativity to pursuit his/her career. In the current circumstance, together with the develop of technology, a musician finds it is more interesting and free to create new products. Musicians can find motivation for their passion everywhere, from their personal life, from their friends/relatives’ life, or even from a stranger’s life posted online. The most important thing is that the musician should have sensitive eyes to see what others can’t see, and he/she have to have a sensitive heart to feel what others can’t feel; hence, that musician can use the talent to transfer something normal into a beautiful song/ soundtrack.
