(4) A scientist designs and conducts an observation, measurement, or experiment. (5) A scientist analyzes and interprets the data in reference to the hypothesis or researcher question from steps two and three. What kinds of topics are best addressed by qualitative research questions? What counts as qualitative research data? Ultimately, researchers using qualitative methods try to do what? What are the various methods of qualitative research? What is meant by discourse? Subjectivity? Mutual simultaneous shaping? Know the basics of inductive analysis. Be able to define triangulation. What are some types of it? How is reliability and validity best dealt with in qualitative research? What are the advantages and limitations of qualitative research?
