Women in the victorian time were not the ones allowed to make the first move it was always known to be the man. Bram Stoker first shows us the ideal woman and the way she is expected to act in society, once he creates the image of that woman; Mina. He then creates the complete opposite of the way a woman should carry herself and introduces the woman vampires. This then draws us to believe that the vampire woman is created to be the antagonist of the novel, by being sexually active, seductive and submissive to men. In Victorian society, women that were pure and chaste were honored. But in Dracula the sexual and lustful women are portrayed as evil; the pure and innocent women are portrayed as strong, heroic, and faithful in relationships. Word count 477
