12. Schleiermacher describe sin as only individual reality. 13. This the state of sin over its entire range actually presupposes the original perfection of man, and is indeed dependent upon it; and, accordingly, just as the latter conception expresses the unity of our development, so sin in turn represents its intermittent and disjointed character, through without in any way abrogating the unity itself. 14. We are conscious of sin party as having its source in ourselves, party as having its source outside our own being. The act of the individual, every single sin of the individual must necessarily have its source in himself. Friedrich Schleiermacher - 1768 into a pietist family - He argues that true christanity is about “a sense or taste in the finite” which is called piety - Piety can not be reduced to either knowing or doing, but in fact the fundamental reality that is the root in human life - Christanity is rooted in piety - Showed the people that christanity should not be shoved to the side which shocked everyone. Christianity got at the root of all human life and constituted a certain realm - Humans are absolutely dependent on God - Huaman sin is a conflict between flesh and something else, it is not objective - Sin is about the conscious of conflict between knowing what you would be and do in contrast to what you are and what you did like guilt - Jesus Christ is what solves it and defines Jesus Christ as the redeemer - The father of modern theology
