Discussion Experimental = 3.90 J/cal Theoretical = 4.184 J/cal Our result is smaller than the accepted value. The percent error is quite low at 6.8% meaning that as with any experiment minor error did occur. Some sources of error include not performing the lab experiment properly. One major source that comes within this experimentation is misinterpretation of the data causing incorrect solutions and calculations. If error occurring with machinery or incorrect readings, it would have affected all other results and calculations meaning the final solution would be slightly off like in our case. Conclusion In general this laboratory was a success as our percentage error was low. Of course as with any experimentation, human error occurs as that is something that cannot be always readily controlled. Possible sources of error are discussed in the discussion. The objective was met as electrical energy was calculated and the conversion factor between the electrical energy and heat energy was obtained.
