ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP 10This team should reflect the diversity of the patients that the hospital serves. The mix of a representative from each department is one type of diversity already because it brings different departments and needs from those areas. Included in team department diversity, it is important that a culturally diverse team be also important. This hospital cares for a large population of Hispanic and other non-white cultures. It is important to consider the people on this team shouldalso represent different races, cultures, and ethnicities to have a broad perspective. Leadership TheoriesThe leadership style utilized in developing the above team is transformational leadership. This type of leadership works well with this type of team because they motivate and inspire others to follow and emphases’ the importance of interpersonal relationships (Sullivan, 2017). Transformation leadership focuses on merging the motives, desires, values, and goals of the groups for a common cause (Sullivan, 2017). This leadership style will motivate the group to inspire the members to come up with choices that will have a successful outcome and also supports the strategy for improvement of advisors at this hospital. Implementation of StrategyHaving patient and families involved in councils, committees and quality and safety rounds improve the patient experience. Creating this multidisciplinary team to identify and worktogether to find areas that patients and families voices are not well represented will allow the opportunity for future representation. This team will also be able to brainstorm over ways to recruit those patients and families for these members to sit in as advisors. The nurse representative can gather evidence-based practice that confirms that having families and patients take part in quality and safety advocates for better patient care and outcomes.
