If you will be gone for a university-related event, you should notify me so that the work may be completed ahead of time. Please make an appointment to meet with me in my office if you have exceptions to the above attendance policies and wish to discuss it. COURSE FORMAT FOR BLENDED LEARNING: The course has been set up this semester to include two units that will be covered independently by the student (virtual) and will require only coming to class on the scheduled exam days during those units. While one half the class is doing two units virtually, the other half of the class will attend class and cover the unit on CPR/AED and check off skills and take the exam. The two groups will then change and the group that just completed the CPR/AED unit will then do the virtual units. The group that just completed the virtual units will now attend class and do the CPR/AED skills and exams. NOTE: please pay attention to the calendar and exam dates. ALL EXAMS will be taken in the classroom on personal computers. You will need to bring your computer to class for exams.

After completion of CPR/AED for both groups, the entire class will meet for the remainder of the semester. This will require class attendance to do skill checks on bandaging, splinting, and controlling bleeding. EVALUATION PROCEDURES/CRITERIA: NOTE: Exams and quizzes will be done on blackboard. Computers required. Written tests will be included to meet the expected academic standards at FHSU. These exam may include multiple choices, true/false, matching, listing and short answer questions. Quizzes will be given on assigned reading material for each chapter throughout the semester and can be accessed on blackboard. Quizzes will be available only during the time being spent on a unit. Students are responsible for completing the quizzes and submitting them. To help prepare for the written exam , read through the Ready for Review and Vital Vocabulary at the end of each chapter. Do the Assessment in Action and the Check Your Knowledge at the end of each chapter for your own self- review and self-test of knowledge. The answers for Assessment in Action and Check Your Knowledge are given after Appendix D at the back of the text. You should also go through the Power Points and Chapter Summaries provided on blackboard as a review.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
