depending of the specific parenting style given to the child. The more different categories for parenting styles would help us narrow down the effects of parenting on an individual because each category is more specific in what the parent does (less broad of a list like Baumrind), thus giving us a better perspective as to the outcome on the child during and after childhood. The descriptions of the resulting behaviors of the child as it reaches adulthood make sense to me at least because you can see it happen with the type of parental style given when younger. For example, if your parent had shown you a sexually stimulating style of parenting then you are very likely to use your looks for profit or to influence other. You may also avoid any emotional intimacy or love because of your past experiences from your parents and to even over sexualize a lot of things or reject anything sexual completely. Now there are always exceptions to these types of expectations because I personally would use my “attractiveness” to get what I want depending on what it is and what I have to do. I wouldn’t go as far as doing prostitution but I would be open to the idea of pole dancing/exotic dancing if I knew how to and would be able to make a lot of money on the side. That being said, I did not have sexually stimulating parents whatsoever, rather they were religious and very old fashioned. There
