of drinking and took a picture of the song he wrote. So, you just never know where your inspiration comes from and I think that in this first chapter that is what Libeskind conveys, he can be inspired by anything anywhere at any time. Architecture conveys meaning very simply, every building has a heart and soul just like every person does. Libeskind reminded us of this and briefly talked about the struggle of connecting them. I think once you realize that a building is a living and breathing thing you realize that its identity is part what the architect wanted but also part of the environment the building is in. Libeskind asked the question how do you make a building sing? In Nashville, Tennessee a place I was lucky enough to call home for two years, the convention center is shaped like a huge guitar and the windows of the Country Music Hall of Fame are shaped like Piano keys. In a place known as Music City it is hard not to look these two buildings and not think of music. That started with an Architect who understood what Music City was known for and that was all kinds of Music from Country to the Kings of Leon who are Nashville natives. So, to me that is how Architecture conveys meaning, it takes a hold of you, you see a building and you know instantly where you are in what city in the world. I also think Libeskind is very spot on about his admiration for his “fearless mother” I think a lot of his designs are fearless and very different so maybe that is a trait he developed from his mother.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
