3.3.1 Setup of Radiometer Firstly, the apparatus was connected to the electrical supply. It was then followed by checking the correct operation to make sure that every step ahead will be conducted smoothly. The power control knob on the control panel was turned fully anti-clockwise. This was to minimize the power input on the heat source. 3.3.2 Adjusting the Radiometer The power control on the panel was turned to maximum to increase heat source after setting up the equipment according Figure 1. Allow some time for the radiometer reading to stabilize at steady heat source before noting the radiometer reading. Figure 1: The setup of the equipment 3.3.3 Taking Results The radiometer reading was recorded according the distance from the heat source. A few positions for radiometer along the horizontal track was marked for reading. A distance of 100 mm, 200 mm, 300 mm, 400 mm, 500 mm, and 600 mm was marked for reading.

3.3.4 General Safety Procedures A few of general safety procedures have to be taken to ensure the safety of equipments and the students conducting the experiment. Firstly, was to always read and understand the manual properly before attempting to operate the equipment. Secondly, was to avoid touching hot surfaces such as heater to prevent skin burn. Next, it was better to not play with any electrical devices such as hand phones or laptops near to the equipment because it may disturb the reading of the radiometer. Lastly, disconnect the equipment from the electrical supply when not in use to avoid any malfunctions.
