Perrewe, Meurs and Rossi (2014), define descriptive research as relating to surveys and knowledge inquiries, they additionally stated that it presents the current condition of affairs. The study will adopt the quantitative technique on the effects of human resource management practices on employee performance. The independent variables in the research include; performance feedback, selective hiring, training and development, compensation and employment security. 8.2.Sampling technique In the research, I will adopt the use of random sampling. To my view, random sampling isthe best statistical method of data collection because it gives the individuals (employees) to be sampled an equal chance to be picked and be used for the research. Additionally, the technique issimple, easier to be administered and saves time as compared to other probability sampling techniques. 8.3.Data collection There are various methods that will be used in collecting the data from the field. I will adopt the use of personal interview and structured questionnaires to collect data. A questionnaire is defined as a schedule containing formulated questions for purposes of collecting information. The questionnaires will be of two types namely closed ended and open ended. The close ended questionnaires do not give the respondents to express their personal views, rather they are given choices that they are supposed to pick one and leave the rest. On the other hand, open ended questionnaires give the respondents a chance to express their views without limits. The close ended questionnaires will be structured in a number of areas to effectively gather the informationof the research. The areas that will be concentrated for information collection will include; a rating on the influence of training and development on employee productivity, the influence of compensation on employee productivity, the influence of employment security on employee
RESEARCH PROPOSAL: PROFESSIONALISM AND EMPLOYEE PRODUCTIVITY7productivity, the influence of performance appraisal on employee productivity and the influence of selective hiring on employee productivity. 8.4.Data Analysis The collected data from the questionnaires and interviews shall be coded and enter into statistical package for descriptive statistical analysis (Myles, 2014). The descriptive analysis will summarize the continuous variables by calculating the mean while tables shall be used for categorical variables and consequently present using graphs or pie charts.
