hit his beer mug dead center, although it did not spill. He looked at me and then looked back to the TV, like I wasn't the kind of thing to be bothered with.” (21) Taylor knows how to stick up for herself, and how to play it off like she does when she doesn't know. (21) Taylor explains the main reason why she does not want to be in a serious relationship with a man by saying “If I wanted a baby I would have stayed in Kentucky, I would have had babies coming out of my ears by now.” (24) This is That being Taylor ’ s way of saying she I doesnt don't want the kid. Being as it is that she is kind of forced to take the baby, allowed her to realize that maybe she did want, and maybe even need the baby. When it comes to Lou Ann, she has a little different story. Highlighting this in chapter 2 “Later, when the arguments resumed, they had a hopeless quality that Lou Ann had not
experienced before. The arguments made her feel like her bones were made of something like the rubber in a gumby doll.” (34) At this point in Lou Ann’s relationship, she had been being battered with arguments and false accusations from Angle, to the point that she had just been completely beat down to nothing. Taylor on the other hand has not had that experience in her life so far, however she has somehow been more prepared for a relationship like that than then Lou Ann has. Because Being that Taylor and Lou Ann are two completely different characters , they approach the way deal with men differently. Lou Ann is more of a sit and wait for things to get better person, instead of whereas Taylor who will stop the show instantly to say what she thinks. They both take relationships very seriously and associate them with great value. For example Taylor with her mother, and Lou Ann with her Grandmother. Overall though Taylor and Lou Ann would like that relationship with a man, but honestly need to straighten out the ir recent changes in both of their lives children dalema they both have, and make sure that their children are getting all the right care stuff to be amazing kids.
