Seeing a young child with that shirt on surprised me as I didn’t even think they would know what characters he was wearing. The last boy appears to be the oldest and is medium height with an athletic build, dark hair and a red shirt with black pants. The two girls look like they could be related. They both have dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, as well as having the same facial features. One of them is wearing yellow with black shorts. The other is wearing a teal dress with white flowers on it. Out of the six children, the short, stocky kid seems to be the one in control of the conversation. He fidgets around a lot while he talks and doesn’t seem to look where he is going at all. I couldn’t hear what they were talking about as they
entered the park but they all started laughing after the short kid stopped talking. They approach the park benches beneath the pavilion and sit down. It seems that the girl with the yellow shirt is romantically involved with the tall kid with the “Calvin and Hobbes” shirt as they get close to each other when they are sitting down and smile at one another a lot. Kind of weird because I don’t remember ever having much to say to girls at that age and they don’t seem to ever talk to each other but they still display a lot of romantic qualities that kids at that age exhibit. The athletic looking kid and the boy with the mismatched clothes start talking about football other sports and get into a big debate about who the better players are from their perspective teams. This conversation is somewhat lost on me as they name off a ton of players I don’t even know. They are also so quick to throw out another player’s name that it almost makes it seem like they are just jumping from one point to the next without making any real arguments to their claims, but it is amusing nonetheless. The girl in the teal dress is the quietest and seems to just listen to her friends talk. Occasionally she gets up to go play with the squirrels that inhabit the park but they all just run away from her as she gets closer. Time 1:30PM Back to the kids playing tag. One of the boys is actually climbing a tree to hide from the others. Now the child who is the seeker is different from before and he seems to be getting frustrated that he can’t catch his friends who are now hiding. He finishes his count and slowly trudges around looking for any potential hiding places. By the time he ventures out far enough away from the base the rest of the kids swarm the safe zone when he is not looking and he has to start over again, a fact that you can tell is wearing on his patience. I remember being a little kid and being frustrated whenever I was the seeker for a long time. Today is another hot day so I can understand this kid’s frustration as he uses up his energy to chase his friends around just to fall short again and again. This time after the kid finishes his count he walks towards the water
