Assessment: Current start of a sore throat and painful swallowing with conceivable exposure to several infectious sources. A headache, without a history of head trauma, noted. Complained of decreased appetite associated with painful swallowing, denies nausea or vomiting. Differential Diagnosis: 1) Influenza- a Sore throat, runny nose, and headache could be symptoms of the influenza virus (Nguyen, 2016). The possibility of influenza increases if the patient was feverish. Exposure to multiple infectious sources in her school. 2) Diphtheria- Common symptoms of low-grade fever, sore throat and hoarseness, malaise, nasal discharge, swollen glands, and the thick, gray membrane covering your throat and tonsils (Lo, 2015).
